What I Learnt On My Llama Walkabout

The Llama Park in East Sussex is a magical place, home to over 30 llamas and alpacas.

 

It is where llama dreams come true.

 

I was excited to go on a Llama Walkabout.

 

I mean really, super excited.

 

This is Freddie, who would be taking me on my journey of self-discovery and realisation.

 

Although, Freddie did not seem quite as keen about the idea as I was.

 

Meet the handsome Will, professional llama-wrangler and walking guide.

 

Sorry friends, this dude is strictly into llamas.

 

As we embarked on the Llama Walkabout, I wondered what llama-wisdom Freddie would impart onto me.

 

What is certain is that Freddie is a very friendly llama-dude.

 

…not like this aloof llama.

 

Freddie is loyal.

 

And majestic.

 

However, Freddie, like most llamas, can become distracted by other things — like eating leaves…

 

…Carrots…

 

…and grass.

 

Indeed, it takes a long time to build up a meaningful relationship with a llama.

 

But once you do, you are llama-bros for life!

 

Becoming friends with a llama is a wondrous, awesome thing.

Yes, I felt compelled to kiss Freddie.

 

It was intense.

We met Teddy along the way.

 

Freddie and Teddy are old buds.

 

Until Teddy was being sassy, and Will the llama-wrangler had to step in.

 

Freddie did not have time for that.

Teddy was looking pretty smug.

 

We found this llama standing on a mound, showing everyone who’s boss.

 

These alpacas were very happy getting on with important alpaca-business.

 

Indeed, llamas and alpacas are happiest when spending time together.

 

This llama enjoyed taking an impromptu selfie.

 

This llama was not so impressed.

 

At least this skippy fellow was thrilled to see us.

 

Yes, llamas and humans are natural companions.

 

That is, as long as you have plenty of treats.

 

If you don’t, they may feel compelled to spit.

So what was my biggest aha moment during the Llama Walkabout?

 

They have magnificent hair. FACT.

 

Yes, we should all be more like the noble llama.
